Playing each other for the first time in several years due the game started well for Hill who pressured Plumton on many occasions just not being able to convert the pressure into points with the game being played between the 10 metre line and Plumptons 22 with Hills normal impeccable line out not performing to their own high standards allowing Plumpton to clear the line . Despite this Hill should have scored first winning several kickable penalties but each sailing to the right of the posts by inches allowing Plumpton to clear again. With 35 minutes gone on the clock Plumpton put a kick in from a penalty winning a line out on Hills 5 metre line . Plumpton won the line out and opted to pick the ball up from the resulting ruck propping the sides and after several attempts it looked like Hill had held on with Pazza driving the Plumpton scrum half back several metres giving Hill breathing space only to find another player had been penalised for being offside . Plumpton chose to take a short penalty again and tried the sides again Hill holding out for a further 10 phases before Plumpton scored unconverted 0-5. With half time looming Hill drove up the middle with Pringle and Tyrall being influential winning a penalty in front of the posts only to miss the kick again.

Half Time saw several changes and fresh legs for Hill as they look to win the advantage they had territorially in the first 30 but it was Plumpton that stuck first again with the centre cutting through the middle with ease scoring in the corner with a Ashton type splash albeit a bit more of a belly splash again unconverted 0-10. The next 30 saw a ping pong game with both sides looking to gain dominance but neither seeming to be able to. It was Plumpton that scored next with only 8 remaining on the clock sealing the win with a converted try 0-17. Hill however had the last say driving through the fringes following a good drive at the line out with skipper Bucher crossing in the corner converted by Bowles 7-17. In the end Plumptons experience in the higher leagues showed playing intelligent Rugby at the right times of the game allowing them to win the game . Next week Hill 2s take on Hellingly away looking to start the long road to winning again
