Burgess Hill School’s U16 Netball team are best in Sussex

The Burgess Hill School for Girls’ U16 Netball team are the best in Sussex after winning the county round of the National Netball championship.

The team were unbeaten in all their games and finished with a superior goal average at the event at Roedean School on Saturday 23rd November.

Burgess Hill School beat Hurstpierpoint College, Bedes, Warden Park, Our Lady of Sion School, Lavant House and Mayfield, and drew with Brighton College.

Netball coach and P.E teacher, Miss Partington said, “This is an excellent achievement resulting in the team representing Sussex in the regional round in January.”

The team were: Lily Frost, Sophia Davies, Natasha Hoile, Georgie Fielder (Captain), Lauren Byway, Maddie Simons, Olivia Harding and Lydia Goodridge.

This is the second consecutive year the team have reach the regional final and the third year for many of the girls who also reached the national final in 2012 as U14 team players.
