Captain Brame leaves Thunder

Worthing Thunder Basketball Club captain James Brame has left the club owing to a business opportunity in America.

Brame was also assistant coach to head coach Daniel Hildreth, who said: “I’m truly gutted James has to leave but I totally support why he is doing it. The team will definitely miss his experience and leadership on the court.

“It’s time for some of the other guys to step up now and fill the void.”

Brame’s job is temporary and Hildreth has said he will be welcome back at Thunder any time.

Thunder chairman Frank Gainsbury added: “It’s a shame that James has to depart the team. James is Worthing Thunder, he is the heart of the team and he has been a professional on and off the court. This is an exciting opportunity for him, though, and he leaves with all our best wishes.”
