Catlin joins Stabler at Wick

WICK Football Club have appointed former Chichester boss Mick Catlin as joint-manager with Carl Stabler for next season.

Catlin led Chichester to the Sussex RUR Cup last season, where they defeated Whitehawk in the final, and also to the Brighton Charity Cup final, where they lost to Ryman League Horsham, in extra-time.

Catlin and Stabler will be co-bosses for next season, but for the 2008-09 season, Stabler will move upstairs to be chairman with Catlin becoming first-team boss. This coming season will be Barry Wadsworth's last as chairman before he becomes the club's president.

Catlin, 42, was a midfielder at Waterlooville, Gosport, Fareham, Andover and Portfield. He ran the reserves at Havant & Waterlooville, was assistant-manager at Gosport and managed Ryman League Fleet Town before joining Chichester. At Chichester last season, he was assistant to Adie Girdler before becoming manager when Girdler left in October.

Catlin said: "I'm looking forward to a fresh challenge and being at an ambitious club. Realistically, we will be looking at a position in the top six."

Catlin brings with him to Wick, coach Ian Saunders and goalkeeping coach, Steve May. Brett Torode will be assistant-manager to Catlin and Stabler.
