Challen aims for Stirlands double

LITTLEHAMPTON Cricket Club were knocked off the top of Sussex League Division 2 by Chichester's 30-point win over Bexhill on Saturday and now they travel to third-placed Stirlands this Saturday.

Littlehampton defeated Stirlands by three wickets earlier in the season and to cpmplete a double would go a long way to helping them secure a top-two finish to gain promotion into the Premier Division.

With six games to go each, Littlehampton head Stirlands by just four points. Fourth-placed Haywards Heath are 30 points off Littlehampton, who are 16 points behind leaders Chichester.

Captain Benn Challen said: "It's a big game but it's not going to decide anything, although it will certainly go towards it.

"We will be going there to win, firstly. If we can't do that, we obviously don't want to lose."
