Charlotte wants place in Britain's team again

TALENTED young athlete Charlotte Browning from Pulborough attended a training day in Tonbridge hosted by her mentor Dame Kelly Holmes.

Born in Chichester, Charlotte has been part of Holmes's successful On Camp With Kelly mentoring initiative since it began in 2004 and which aims to help the next generation of British middle-distance athletes to achieve their potential.

Charlotte (20) has been studying in Florida for the past few years but has kept in touch with Holmes while abroad. Although injury problems have halted her progress she said she enjoyed the get-together and had high hopes for 2009. "I hope that 2009 sees me improve my best times," she said. "I want to compete well at the National Collegiate Championships in America and compete for Great Britain again."
