In the under-14 event Kasjan Paszkowki showed the grit and determination he’s becoming known for, taking bronze in the boys’ event.

Rhianna Batchelor took silver in the girls’ event and Isaac Jolley easily took gold in the boys’ under-14 foil with his usual confident flair to become a Sussex champion again.

Some of Chichester’s youngest members braved the boys’ under-12 event: Robert Moore, Ethan Mansfield and Ben Gray were not put off by older competitors fencing and showed promise.

Ben Shepherd and Harry Gray gave excellent performances, taking bronze and silver medals respectively. Lara Middlemiss and Tara Sallaba fenced well in the girls’ under-12 event but it was Sallaba who fought with devastating attack to take the gold medal and the championship cup.
