Chichester netballers roar to Roehampton success

THE UNIVERSITY of Chichester’s netball fourth team visited Roehampton and came away with a 32-27 win.

They went into the game with a really positive attitude, keen to try out some of their set plays worked on at training.

After the first two quarters they were drawing 14-14 but they kept calm. Playing at their own pace, the defence got some good turnovers that were brought down court well, leading to a 32-27 win.

It was a first win of the season for Chichester fours and shows that great preparation and determination is key.

The Roehampton team named Amy Haken as Chichester’s player of the match and Chichester named Amy Walters for making countless interceptions as GK. Chichester’s fifth team also beat Roehampton. It was an incredibly close game and it was 22-22 going into the final quarter.

However, Chi were determined to win and managed to take the lead, finishing with a score of 31-25. Francesca Gallop and Georgia Marr worked really well together in defence getting the rebounds and making lots of turnovers.

However, player of the match was Asta Caister for her faultless shooting.
