Pulborough were the final opponents for the pool stages. From the start it was a physical game but Chichester dominated, barely letting Pulborough see the ball. A 2-0 victory secured the pool win with no tries conceded in three games.

The semi-final was against Worthing and again Chichester dominated, with the scrum starting to show how dominant it can be. The game ended with a 6-0 victory.

The final saw Chichester take on Pulborough again. Chichester again penned Pulborough into their own half for almost the entire match.

Chichester’s under-eight A team also won their age group to become West Sussex West champions.

The team were in a pool with Midhurst, Bognor, Worthing and Pulborough. Five of the team were under-seven champions last year.

Against Bognor, the boys got into their stride and won 4-2, before facing Worthing, who appeared to be the strongest opposition but were beaten by Chi 6-4. Versus Midhurst, it was a 5-3 victory, and the final pool match was Pulborough A, who they beat 6-4.

Chi met Pulborough B in the final and at half-time had a 3-2 lead. From then on, the boys streaked ahead – with a final try just before the whistle clinching a famous 7-3 win.
