A total of 31 points from captain Alex Barbary helped the men’s basketball first team defeat Brunel II 85-50.

The netball club continued their remarkable start to the season with the second, third, fourth and fifth teams beating sides from higher leagues to progress to the next round.

However, the performance of the day was by the men’s football fourth team who won 2-0 away to Portsmouth’s first team, who play four leagues higher in the Chichester second XI’s league. Goals from Gain and Kendall secured the historic victory.

In the league, the men’s hockey ones and women’s badminton teams maintained their top-of-the-table form with Rebekah Flatman’s side defeating Surrey 6-2 away from home.

Off-campus, the women’s football seconds narrowly defeated Essex firsts, while the women’s rugby side dismantled former BUCS team of the year UCL 65-0.

There was also a winning return for the netball first team after a one-point loss, with a 42-40 victory over Kings Medics.

Another team back to form after a loss was the men’s football first team. Their 4-2 win over Cambridge University ones was inspired by a double save from a penalty by keeper Binfield and goals from Bold, Pearce, Farren and Landais.
