Chichester's home start is wayward against Wayfarers

After a gruelling pre-season Chichester wanted to remind the rest of the South open premier division one that points do not come easy at Fort Kingsham.

Sadly, things didn’t go to plan and they were on the wrong end of a 5-2 scoreline versus Wayfarers.

However, Wayfarers started the brighter, firing a few balls narrowly past the back of the post. Chichester made countless unforced errors in the first half and were 2-0 at half-time. Chichester began the second half with more purpose, with the midfield and forwards hassling the Wayfarers players.

Things looked promising but Wayfarers absorbed the pressure and secured a healthy 4-0 lead. Chichester started to show Wayfarers how they can really play.

They spent the next ten minutes camped in the Wayfarers half creating numerous short corners which they were able to capitalise on and make the score 4-2.

Wayfarers’ discipline failed them and they were down to ten men for a long period. Chichester nearly adding a third but Wayfarers scored on a breakaway.
