Claridge and Windass to help kick off Fontwell festival

Football legends turned TV pundits Steve Claridge and Dean Windass will star at a sportsman's lunch at Fontwell Park in September.

The pair will be at the Lads’ Lunch on Friday, September 30, the first day of the new Fontwell Park racing festival.

It will be hosted by Jack the Lad from the Heart Sussex breakfast show.

Claridge, 45, played for 15 clubs and appeared in more than 1,000 professional and semi-professional games.

He played for several teams along the south coast including Pompey and Brighton and is now a familiar face and voice on BBC TV and radio.

Windass, 42, works for Sky Sports, having played for Bradford and Hull among others.

Fontwell Park’s commercial manager Grant Elgin said “It’s great to have Steve kicking off our new two-day festival. I’m sure he and Dean will add to a fantastic afternoon at the races with plenty of sporting banter and cheeky humour.”
