CLAYTON RETURNS TO ACTION WITH THE WINNER

IT HAS been a long time coming for Rustington midfielder Simon Clayton. More than a year since his last game of football '” East Preston against Billericay in the FA Cup '” he made a goalscoring return to action.

Clayton, 23, was injured when tackled by former-Wimbledon pro Peter Fear while playing for Bognor Regis Town against Sutton United in Conference South. He tore his left anterior knee ligament and had to have it replaced with a tendon from his patella in his left knee but will make a full recovery.

He said: "I'm glad to be back. I got injured just before October last year so have been out for about 14 months. It's been quite annoying and I couldn't wait to get back."
