Common game succumbs to rain

We may only be in August but already we've had the first postponement of the football season.

Little Common's scheduled trip to Mile Oak in Division Two of the Sussex County League last night (Wednesday) fell victim to all the rain which lashed the south of the country.

Common, who have won three and lost two of their first five matches, will return to action on Saturday with a home game against Steyning Town.

Hastings United, meanwhile, remain top of the embryonic Ryman League Premier Division table after Cray Wanderers' match against Carshalton Athletic was abandoned with Cray leading 2-0.
