It was USC’s flamboyant Ryan Gould who commenced well to take an early lead with his fluent potting, however, the MSCC skipper Richard Hilton, renowned his for never say die attitude at the green baize who came back strongly to take the final three colours to snatch a 59-50 black ball win. His colleague Roy Baker was aware that his opponent had a good reputation of break building, the dogged Baker did not allow Rob Prevett to produce his silky skills and dug in to the end in this tight encounter sinking the final black to win 43-42.

The mighty Matt Maynard came to the table knowing he had to avoid defeat, with his trademark long potting talent he opened up an early lead. He was up against the granite Paul Gladding who commenced to steal the points to close the gap, the evergreen Gladding grew in confidence to move on to a 45-30 pink ball win to give MSCC A a well deserved 3-0 victory.

Nick Brayne was the unlucky player of the winners not to be able to perform along with USC’s skipper Calvin Leather and Darren Lekhys, Dennis Wakeford and Roy Tucknott were the officials on duty.
