Conversion to Flat racing stables proves great success

DURING the past two years Peter Winkworth has converted his racing stables near Chiddingfold from jumps to flat, with outstanding success.

In the 2008 Flat season, Robins Farm Racing Stables in Fishers Lane has enjoyed some excellent results, with 26 winners achieving a 15 per cent strike rate and reaping 140,000 prize money. Not only that, but 31 of the 37 horses in the yard have won some prize money.

Now, with some quality yearlings bought ready for next year, and the cream of this year's runners retained for 2009, the yard is aiming for even higher success rates in 2009.

"The facilities here are particularly suitable for young flat horses and we will also be having some runners on the all weather flat during the winter. We will retain only a very small number of jumpers for National Hunt racing during the current jump season," said Peter.
