Cowdray Park Polo Club chairman seriously injured

Chairman of the Cowdray Park Polo Club Peter Barfoot suffered serious injuries after falling from his horse at Ambersham on Saturday (July 16).

Mr Barfoot was playing with his Maiz Dulce team in the 1921 Cup when the accident happened.

He was airlifted by the Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital at Brighton suffering from head and upper arm injuries.

Mr Barfoot, whose Bognor Regis based company is a major producer of exotic vegetables, is an experienced horseman.

A company spokesman told the Observer today (Monday, July 18) Mr Barfoot was still in hospital with ‘serious injuries’.
