Cowdray youngsters take Pony Club Polo Championships honours

It was four times in a row for Cowdray's junior HPA team when they came out winners at the national Pony Club Polo Championships.

Nearly 60 teams travelled from all over the country to take part in the three day championships at Cowdray Park.

Sponsored by Audi, the event hosts the annual finals for both The Pony Club Polo sections of Handley Cross, Surtees, Loriner and Rendell, as well as the Junior HPA Polo sections of Hipwood, Langford and Gannon.

A total of 170 Pony Club and Junior HPA (JHPA) players, making up 59 teams, took part after competing in friendly and qualifying competitions throughout July.

As well as the best talent in polo youth, the event featured the fantastic parade of all championship players to mark the beginning of the finals, which culminated with the Junior HPA Gannon section; the pinnacle for any Pony Club Polo player. The Cowdray team comprised Jack Richardson (19), Charlie Scott (17), Guy Fox-Andrews (18) and Freddie Horne (20).
