Crawley AC ladies filled three of the top 12 places at the Horsham 10K

Starting at Horsham Rugby Club, the race is a multi-terrain race that includes a lap of the rugby field followed by two laps of the local roads including a 1km section of bridleway and climbs back up the hill to finish back at the rugby club.

Anne Matthews (42:22) was third lady (third in her age group), Kennagh Marsh (42:40) fourth lady (first U20), Joanne Geraghty (45:29) 12th lady (third in her age group).

After 40 years, Katie Bristowe broke one of the oldest club records when she won the under-15 girls 75m hurdles at the Sussex Championships held at Withdean Stadium in Brighton.

Katie’s time of 11.46 was a Championship Best Performance and also improved the club record of 11.8 set in 1976 by Susan Clark and equalled in 1980 by Gillian Flowerdew.

Crawley AC Men were fourth in their British League Division 2 match in Cardiff.

Joe Massimo recorded a time of 10.81 in the 100m to beat Matt Barclay’s 11.0 in 2001.

Then in the 200m Massimo beat his own record of 21.88 when he ran 21.36, it also beat the previous U20 record (Jobe Cann 21.79 set in 2013). Massimo was only fourth in the A-string 200m and thirrd in the B-string 100m.
