Crawley turn up the heat on Worthing Tropics

Basketball Club Crawley United bounced back well from their punishing defeat by Brighton Cougars to beat Worthing Tropics 86-70.

These changes particularly paid off at the start of the match when they forged a 21-7 lead. Then the team captain Tadas Domkus went up from the bench and added another eight points all in succession.

Crawley United built a useful 29-17 leads in the first quarter. In the second quarter the team retained their advantage with a 50-37 lead.

In the third quarter Crawley’s advantage was increased to 20 points 63-43 but then then they let the Worthing Tropics into the game and their advantage melted to six points, 63-57.

But that was not the end of the game. Crawley United players concentrated for the last quarter. And with a combination of good offence and defence wiped the Tropics out of contention. Crawley United won the last quarter 23-13.

Crawley topscorers: Tadas Domkus 21 points and 10 rebounds, Giedrius Ceginskas 19 points and 10 rebounds, Darius Vytuvis 17 points and 9 rebounds, Gytis Medzevepris added 14 points. Point-guard Vitalijus Macalkinas made eight assists.
