Cricket news from Lewes Priory

Dads n Lads This Monday (May 7) sees the first of the Priory Dads n Lads matches at eth Stanley Turner Ground. This is the forerunner for the main event in July, but is still a fun morning.

Kids from 5 upwards play in teams with their Dads in a very very friendly game. It has to be said that more than one Dad has been embarrassed by the youngsters in these games. Scoring and number of overs bowled also is a bit variable, but the end result is inevitably close.

Npower Super Sixes

Only another week to get your entries on for the npower Super Sixes at Lewes Priory. This is an evening competition, with just a little less pizzazz than the usual 20:20 games at Hove, but the competition is still stiff.

There are 6 entries so far, including defending champions Wynne Baxter, CHIS and Philcox amongst others, but up to another 6 can be accommodated, maybe even a team from the Express could be conjured up! Details of how to enter can be found on the Priory website at lewespriorycc.co.uk

Rugby / Football season over

If your children have been going to Rugby or Football through the winter and that has now come to a close, Priory would be more than happy to see you come down and try out the Junior cricket that runs through the summer at the Stanley Turner Ground. With most training on either Saturday or Sunday mornings, this often can just replace what you have been doing through the winter.

We are particularly interested in getting more girls down to the club to come into our new Under 13s (year 8) side. This includes a few from years 7 and 6 as well, but is a good group and has its own female coach being appointed.

Quiz night

Thinking hats on, two weeks to the Fish 'n' Chip supper / Quiz night. From 19:00 onwards a range of questions will test your knowledge of what has happened in Sport, Television, 2007, Music and General Knowledge. Entry includes the cost of the Fish and chips.
