CRICKET: Victorious Crows crush table toppers

CROWBOROUGH skipper Andy Cornford played a huge part in his side's nine-wicket win against Eastbourne at The Saffrons.

As Eastbourne were dismissed for just 93, Cornforn took 4-14 and with Neem Akhtar chipping in with 4-28 the Eastbourne batting was found wanting.

Cornford then made 28 not out and Richard Jackson hit 30 as the visitors cruised home at 94-1 and eased their way up to fifth spot in the table.

Last year's champions Brighton & Hove enjoyed their first win of the season in beating Haywards Heath by eight wickets to move off the bottom of the table.

Horsham are still flying high on 122 points with Hastings second on 104, Chichester third on 95, Worthing forth on 94 and Crowborough eight points further back.

However, Cornford's men are the only unbeaten team in the division.

St James are now flying high at the top of division two after a convincing win over title rivals Littlehampton.
