Arundel Rotary Club stumps up cash for junior cricketers

YOUNG cricketers in Arundel have been bowled over after they received a donation of £1,000.

The cash windfall was provided by the Arundel Rotary Club had has been used to purchase new equipment for the town’s youth side.

As part of the support, the Rotarians invited the former captain of Sussex County Cricket Club, John Barclay, to inspect the squad’s newest items of kit.

John, of Amberley, spoke to the aspiring cricketers about his career, which saw him take 324 wickets and score almost 10,000 runs with Sussex.

Rotary club president Keith Boyd-Seymour, said: “Arundel Rotary is very keen on helping the youth of this area, and providing the right-size kit for any sport is most important.”
