Reigning East Sussex Cricket League champions Rye will make their Sussex Division Four bow in the north of the county on Saturday May 10, 2014.

Crawley came third-from-bottom of Division Three (East) in 2013 and as such have been placed in the newly-created Division Four. Division Three (East) and (West) have been replaced by Division Three and Four.

Rye’s first home game will be against Keymer & Hassocks the following weekend and they visit Slinfold seven days after that. Rye will conclude the summer at home to Lewes Priory on Saturday September 6.

There will be a lot of travelling for Rye next summer. Only two of the division’s other nine teams are in the east of the county and their shortest trip will be 30 miles to Hellingly. The journeys to Slinfold and Wisborough Green will both be in excess of 70 miles.

Rye’s second team, meanwhile, will line-up in Sussex Cricket League 2nd XI Division Three (East).

Rye’s 2014 Sussex Cricket League Division Four fixtures: May 10 Crawley (a), May 17 Keymer & Hassocks (h), May 24 Slinfold (a), May 31 Wisborough
