Barry hundred rocks leaders

CROWHURST Park got their season back on track with a fine win over leaders Crawley in Division Three (East) of the Sussex Cricket League.

Park, who had gone into the game on the back of a run of three defeats and a draw, were put into bat after losing the toss at Telham.

Opener Martin Barry dominated the innings with a sparkling 106 off 111 balls which included 16 fours and one six as Park finished on 229-9 off 52.4 overs. He received support from Paul Brookes (29) and Clive Tong (21), while the main wicket-taker was Sohail Shah (4-35).

In reply, Crawley were dismissed for 158 as Ed Smissen (3-26 off 11 overs), Paul Lindfield (4-25) and Nick Peters (2-18) caused all sorts of problems.

This result sees fourth-placed Park move to within 14 points of top spot.
