Winning the toss and batting first, Lindfield started slowly, falling to 26-4 as Geoffrey Lawrence, Tom Howard, Vincent Lawson and Shane Yelverton all failed to get going. Opening bowlers Matt Geffen and Daniel Joseph had their part to play, as between them they took 8 of the 9 wickets that fell. A 56 run partnership between James Aggio-Brewe (35) and Michael Rippon repaired things but when Brewe fell Lindfield were still 82-5. However, Thom Brown’s well-crafted innings of 40 and Rippon’s 60 restored proceedings and Lindfield were 166-6, attempting to repair things. Phil Weir’s quick 26 pushed Lindfield to 210/9.

Chichester’s reply was to lose regular wickets and, at the hands of James Pearce, Aggio-Brewe, Yelverton and Rippon, they did just that. At 67-5, in a similar position as Lindfield were, Chichester lacked the strength in batting to fight off a determined Lindfield attack. Chichester’s middle order crumbled and they were all out for 103, Aggio-Brewe taking 3/18 from thirteen overs.

Lindfield are now fifth in the table with 246 points.
