A solid partnership between George Ledden 68 and Neel Patel 74 followed by some big-hitting lower order batting helped propel the score to 226-all out of 51 overs Fazlan 3-45 and Anjum Zafer 3-22 were the pick of the bowlers.

Following on from their remarkable 169 opening stand last week, Eagles’ openers scored 101 for the firts wickjet but a middle-order collapse made it hard to push for the win as Eagles ended the innings on 181-7, Tayyab topscored with 90 Jonathan Smith 3-28 was the pick of the bowlers.

Eagles captain Imran Suddahazai said: “It was disappointing not to have chased down that total especially after the great start made by the openers. But I hope the team can learn from this as we move forward into the rest of the season I am confident that other batsmen will start to take some of the responsibility and perform very soon.”

This Saturday Eagles are at home to Steyning, 1pm start.
