Skipper Jack Groves won the toss and decided to bowl first and Bognor’s openers found runs hard to come by thanks to a tight opening spell by Pratik Patel and Jigar Parekh.

Charlie La Foret was caught by Norris off Patel for 14 and then Max Ashmore was trapped LBW by Paul Clifford for 20 to leave Bognor at 42 for 2.

Mikey Harris for the home side was given out LBW only for the umpire to change his mind and call him back and he went on to score with 49 before he was stumped by Groves off the bowling of Dan Smith.

The Bognor middle and lower order struggled and the Ifield spinners and the final total of 133 looked to be well short. spinners Rob Ballarino, Dan Smith and Paul Clifford picked up four, three and two wickets respectively.

The Ifield response got off to a poor start when Paul Clifford was adjudged LBW in the very first over but this proved just a temporary set-back as Norris and Dan Smith put on 87 for the second wicket before Smith was caught at slip for a patient 34.
