After winning the toss and bowling first, Cuckfield bowled Brighton & Hove out for 59 in just 10 overs with wickets for Ellie Clark (2), Daisy Reuby (2), Lottie Palmer-Brown, Charlotte Bates and Charley Hepburn. The girls were outstanding in the field with 6 of the 7 wickets falling to catches by Emily Goss, Ellie Clark, Lottie Palmer-Brown and 3 for Charley Hepburn. Backed up by a superb wicket-keeping performance behind the stumps from Izzy Deamer, the girls were confident that they could chase down the required total.

Hepburn and Deamer opened up in reply and swiftly took the score on to 30 before Deamer (6) was run out taking a quick single. Ellie Clark (17 not out) joined Hepburn at the crease and the tempo of the innings increased as both players found the boundary. It was left to Hepburn (23 not out) to score the winning runs with a powerful pull shot for four as the girls romped home with 9 overs to spare.

This was the girls fifth trophy of a very successful season in which many of the players have turned in career best performances. The top four batters of Charley Hepburn, Izzy Deamer, Ellie Clark and Adeline Preston have score just short of 1100 runs between them and five bowlers have reached double figures for wickets taken (Ellie Clark, Lottie Palmer-Brown, Emily Goss, Daisy Reuby and Charley Hepburn).
