30 year-old Smith, who represented the County in all three formats of the game for Sussex between 2008 and 2010, will join Scott Styris as the Sharks’ overseas player for this year’s campaign.

He was part of the side that won the Pro40 League in 2008, before helping Sussex do the one-day double in 2009, winning both the Pro40 League again and the Twenty20 Cup. His 59 runs from only 26 balls in the final against Somerset at Edgbaston set the Sharks on their way to victory that night.
