Findon bowled their hosts out for 122 as Curtis Howell took 3-30 and Harry Metters, Toby Kingsbury and John Rogers all picked up two wickets.

Metters then hit 44 not out and Glen Bridson struck an unbeaten 37 as Findon set up a clash at home to East Sussex regional winners Rottingdean in the next round on June 28.

Findon captain Bradley Bridson said: “They were about 80-2 at the drinks break after 20 overs, so we pegged them back really well and we then knocked off the runs pretty comfortably.

“We’ve played Rottingdean three times in this competition. They beat us the first time but we’ve beaten them the last two times.

“Everyone knows the final is at Lord’s and, although that’s a long way off, it is just four wins. Hopefully, we’ll be able to put out our strongest side to give ourselves the best chance possible of progressing.”

On Saturday, Findon had won by three wickets at Ansty in Sussex League Division 2 and Bridson said: “Saturday gave both teams a chance to put a bit of a marker down and our win put the pressure right on them for Sunday.

“After I won the toss on Sunday, I elected to bowl first after we had bowled them out cheaply on Saturday.”
