Findon Cricket Club captain Bradley Bridson admits his side are raring to go ahead of their National Village Cup regional final on Sunday (1pm).

Bridson’s team host Sussex League Division 2 and league above Ifield.

That will not strike fear into Findon, though, after they overcame division-higher Ansty in the previous round.

Despite not registering a league win to date, Findon have already won two rounds in the Village Cup, while also achieving the same feat in this year’s Gray Nicolls T20 Cup.

With the competition’s final at Lord’s, Bridson feels his side have been giving much extra in their Village Cup games so far.

He said: “It’s a competition we want to progress in each season and this year we’ve done really well.

“I think we are a cup team this season, on a Saturday we can’t seem to produce the goods but a day later in cup games we look a different side.

“After beating Ansty in the previous round, playing a team from a higher league won’t be something that we fear. They are a good side but with the team available to us on Sunday, we’ll have a good chance to progress.”
