Flintoff is set to be part of the Lancashire 2nd XI team who are taking part in the ECB T20 2nd XI finals day.

Flintoff, who played 79 Test matches for England, last week signed a T20 contract with Lancashire, having previously retired from the sport in 2010.

Rumours all week have suggested Flintoff, 36, could make his Lancashire return in the Roses match against Yorkshire tomorrow, so a strong outing today could boost his selection hopes.

Lancashire meet Leicestershire in the first semi-final with a 10.30am start, before Hampshire meet Somerset in the second semi-final, which starts at 1.45pm.

The final will get underway at 5pm. Entrance for the whole day is free.

James Rufey, executive secretary at Arundel Castle, said: “We are delighted that Andrew Flintoff will be playing here at the Castle Ground as part of the ECB T20 2nd XI finals day.

“Andrew’s return to the cricketing fold has been well documented and we are, of course, thrilled that he will be playing here as part of his return to the game.”
