Horsham aim to keep the pressure on title favourites Nomads

Gallagher’s side kept up their end of the bargain on Saturday with a 30-point win over Cuckfield at Cricketfield Road. Michael Munday took another six wickets as Cuckfield were bowled out for 127, before John Burroughs (41) and Sam Attfield (34) made a unbeaten stand of 61 to guide them to a seven-wicket win.

It was Horsham’s third straight victory, but meanwhile Nomads also took maximum points against East Grinstead to claim their sixth straight win, having lost both their opening league games.

Nomads are in imperious form having bowled out three teams straight for sub 90 scores - including Horsham a month ago - and lead Horsham by 34 points.

“We have to just keep winning, try and get 30 points out of each game and hope that by the time we come to play them down here it’s a crunch game which we have to win. I’m hoping it’ll prove to be a pivotal match.

And speaking about his side’s form Gallagher added: “Our bowlers have done supremely well but I think there’s still room for improvement in our batting, although there are good signs that we’re getting there.”

This weekend marks the halfway point in the season already, with Nomads playing away at Roffey while Horsham go to Hastings.
