Iden draw, wins for Rye & Bridge

Iden were involved in an exciting draw against Ringmer in East Sussex Cricket League Division One on Saturday.

Gary Rens took 3-17 as Ringmer made 156-6 batting first, and Iden ended their reply on 151-9 with David White (30), James Tree (29) and Paul Barnett (22) leading the way.

Rye are joint top of Division Two following a 117-run win away to Chiddingly. Sandun Dias hit 68, Jackson Woodcock 44 and Will Wheeler 43 not out as Rye scored 259-6 declared batting first before Martin Blincow took four wickets to bowl Chiddingly out for 142.

Also in Division Two, Robertsbridge triumphed by three wickets off the final ball of a high-scoring derby at home to Battle. The visitors totalled 253-5 declared batting first with Ben Ridgway (59) and Elliot Scrivener (53 not out) the main contributors.

Allan Hughes took three wickets for a Robertsbridge side which reached its total courtesy of Matt Wilkinson (99), Guy Ballard (52) and David Collins (47). Mike Gedye, Scrivener and Ridgway claimed two wickets each. See Friday’s Observers for full reports.
