An impressive display by 15-year-old Joe Beddoe, who bowled for the first team for the first time – and picked up a wicket with his first delivery – was followed up by half-centuries from Gary Weedon and Tim Miles as EP made it back-to-back wins.

EP captain Andy Reeves said: “It was a very good performance and we’re up into mid-table now, ahead of our game with Clymping on Saturday, which should be a good game.

“I was happy to keep them below 200 and, despite them putting on a few runs for their last wicket, I told the team not to be too downheartened at tea as we had plenty of overs to get the runs.

“Gary and Tim then got us off to a good start and, after we lost a few wickets, Tom and Dan knocked off the remaining runs relatively comfortably.”
