Latest work experience recruits

Sussex County Cricket Club’s ongoing commitment to the development of young workers has been further underlined recently with a fresh intake of work experience placement students.

The club have been working closely with several Universities in order to provide students with unpaid work experience placements as part of their courses.

There is currently a range of expertise represented at the club in differing departments.

Bradley Barnett and Tom Webster, both of Bournemouth University, are assisting Sussex’s Team Analyst Chris Pickett in the Analysis department, whilst two further students, Jack Deal and Joe Lemon of Bournemouth University and the University of Bath respectively, are also working within the Professional Cricket department with Strength and Conditioning Coach Nick Lee.

Lydia Nevitt from the University of Kent will be working on projects with both the Finance and Catering department, whilst Tom Rose of the University of Bournemouth is approaching the end of his twelve-month placement assisting with the Marketing & Communications at the club.

Frances Stokes, Sussex CCC’s HR Manager said, “We realise that youngsters are forever facing an uphill battle to gain employment when they leave University due to the increasingly tough economic climate.

“As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility we are therefore in a position to offer these students unpaid roles at Sussex County Cricket Club whilst they gain invaluable work experience as part of their sandwich University courses.”
