Leo hits ton in latest victory

The Sussex Academy prospect hit 102 not out off 122 balls with 10 fours and two sixes to help Priory see off Three Bridges - for the third time this season - by 112 runs at Horntye Park Sports Complex.

Adam Maharaj-Newman (31), Tom Gillespie (22) and Dave Lowery (21) got Priory off to a reasonable start after they chose to bat, although the latter two fell within nine runs of each other to leave them 83-3.

Number five Byron Gould added 23, but the innings was really all about Cammish. Freddie Hulbert (18) and Elliot Hooper (12) lent useful support as Cammish accelerated brilliantly in the closing overs to complete his ton and ensure Priory posted a decent total of 260-7 from their 58 overs.

John Morgan (1-30 off nine overs) made the initial breakthrough in the field to end an opening partnership of 31, and Josh Poysden picked up the next two wickets, including that of top-scorer Conor Golding (39), with Bridges on 64 and 80 respectively.

Priory put themselves firmly in the driving seat by taking three wickets with the score 114 and another two runs later. Poysden (5-53 off 16) bagged two of them and fellow spinner Elliot Hooper, another Sussex Academy talent, claimed the other two.

Hooper struck again to leave the visitors 130-8 and Poysden, who has recently returned from a serious early season finger injury, completed his five-wicket haul a run later. Hooper (4-44 off 12.1) snapped up the final wicket and his 36th Priory league victim of the season as Bridges were all out for 148 in the 43rd over.

The result keeps Priory in second place, although that could well change after East Grinstead - who are only a point behind them - face the Sussex Development XI later today.
