Finishing 5th in the division was a tremendous feat after only having been promoted.

Lindfield batted first and were 7-2 after Paul Brook’s took opener Geoffrey Lawrence and Thom Brown, in his last game for the club, quickly. Tom Howard’s 20 and Michael Rippon’s 35 restored order, but both fell close to each other as, at 63-4, the game was evenly poised. 27 from Shane Wilson Yelverton and helpful scores from the middle order pushed Lindfield to 153-7, still below par. However, captain James Pearce’s 61 and James Aggio-Brewe’s 28 pushed Lindfield to 220ao. Paul Brookes, for Crowhurst, took 7 wickets from his 20 overs.

Crowhurst started well, getting to 83-3 before getting bogged down from the bowling from Stephen Pearce, who took 2 wickets, and Michael Rippon, who took 3. Shane Wilson-Yelverton and James Pearce had opened the Lindfield account previously, by taking 3 wickets between them. Crowhurst’s only main contribution came from opener Dale Payne, who hit 40. Crowhurst were all out for 144.
