New Aussie arrives at Priory

Hastings Priory are set to welcome Dave Lowery to the fold as their overseas player for the remainder of the campaign.

Lowery is set to make his first appearance of the season tomorrow (Saturday) at Brighton & Hove following his arrival from Australia. Bringing Lowery into the team has been the plan all season, however it does mean Kyle Adcock will have to make way.

Adcock was set to play for Sidley until they withdrew from the Sussex League days before the start of the campaign and instead joined Priory while they waited for the arrival of Lowery. League rules state only one overseas player can be fielded during matches.

“It’s a real shame for Kyle,” said senior player John Morgan. “The agreement has been in place with Dave since before the season though we were just happy to offer Kyle a place to play after Sidley folded. He’s been a great part of the team until this point, though, and we appreciate him coming in and performing well.”

Elsewhere today, Bexhill will be targeting 30 points when they travel to bottom-of-the-table Pulborough in Division Two and Crowhurst Park will be keen to continue their fine form away to high-flying Goring-by-Sea.
