New captain at Sidley Cricket Club

The popular and experienced batsman, who scored two half-centuries during the closing month of the 2010 season, was elected at the Sussex League Division Three (East) outfit’s Annual General Meeting on Monday night.

Hunnisett replaces Neil Priddy, who stood down from the role after leading Sidley to a third place finish in 2009 and sixth position this year. Priddy will, however, be Hunnisett’s vice-captain.

Meanwhile, the first team fixtures for 2011 have already been released. The season will begin with a trip to Burgess Hill on April 30 followed by the always eagerly-anticipated clash at home to Seaford on May 7.
