Slinfold chased down the 180 target set by Crowhurst Park in just 14 overs with Adam Goacher (60 from 30 balls) and James Parker (62 from 25 balls) put on a brutal display of hitting.

And Overton said his clinical side had found winning 'a habit' throughout the competition.

He said: "It was such a fantastic feeling to win the August cup on Saturday.

"We have been clinical all year and winning has become a habit, a habit that we can keep moving forward into next season.

"I am so proud of everyone involved, especially as it was only last season we were playing Division 4 cricket, and this has tournament has been mainly against Division 3 sides."

Tom Endacott (3-34) and Guy Thorne (3-36) were the pick of the bowlers as Crowhurst were beolwed out for 179 in the 39th over.

Overton said: "After losing the toss and starting in the field. We started well and had them on the ropes, but they did manage to get to a competitive score of 179.

"Our reply was one of the most phenomenal things I have seen in club cricket.

"James Parker and Adam Goacher were dispatching balls to all parts of Horsham Cricket Club and we chased down the score in 14 overs.

"To put in a performance like that in a cup final in front of a great and very supportive crowd at Horsham was a brilliant feeling, and something we should celebrate."
