Priory end season with defeat to champions

HASTINGS Priory concluded their campaign in the Sussex Cricket Premier League with defeat at the hands of champions Preston Nomads.

Defending champions Priory decided to bat first at Horntye Park and were sent tumbling to 147 all out. Toby Finzel top-scored with 43 and Harry Finch added 33 as Kashif Ibrahim took 3-22.

Nomads also found runs hard to come by but eventually won by three wickets after ending the day on 148-7. The leg spin of Josh Poysden returned figures of 5-56.

This result ensured Nomads clinched the title from Horsham who surprisingly lost at Brighton & Hove. Priory ended the season in third position.
