The Rams have enjoyed unprecedented success over the last two campaigns.

The Lyons Road outfit won the Division 4 West title in 2019, earning promotion, before winning the Group A5-A8 final of Sussex Cricket League’s supplementary August Cup last season.

And Overton is desperate to return to the field and build on Slinfold’s achievements.

He said: “We are very excited for the upcoming 2021 league season, especially after missing out on playing a full season last year.

“Everyone is ready to get back out playing after a winter of lockdown so we are really going to embrace being back out on the pitch, something we often take for granted.

“We are looking to build on the successes of the last two seasons and we believe that we have the foundations to compete in Division 3.

“We would like to be pushing towards the top half of the league and you never know what can happen if you get a run together, although we are well aware of the strength within the division.”

The Rams have also made a number personnel changes going into the 2021 campaign.

Overton added: “James Parker has returned to Ansty and Callum Jones has joined Horsham Trinity and we wish them all the best.

“We welcome a number of new players including Mahad Ahmed, Greg Iago, Sudess Ali, Rilwan Mohamed, and Fazlan Nizamdeen.

“We hope that these guys can push for regular places in what is already a strong first team squad.”
