They have secured the services of Australian Big Bash star Jordan Silk and Three Bridges’ star batsman Brad Gayler.

Watch Silk in action in the Youtube video.

Silk is a stand-out performer for the Tasmania Tigers and Sydney Sixers across the three formats of the game.

In 2009 at the age of 16, he became the youngest player to hit a century on his Sydney first-grade debut with 126 for Penrith against Blacktown.

Moving to Tasmania in 2012 and made his first-class debut against Queensland on 7 March 2013.

He hit 127 against Victoria in just his second Sheffield Shield outing, then backed it up a week later with a patient innings of 108 in the 2012/13 final as the Tigers secured the title.

After just three first-class matches and 347 runs at 57.83, the Sydney-born opener had gone from unknown Tigers batsman to being selected for the Australian A tour of England.

He started the following season with another two hundreds and two half-centuries and, last summer, he churned out a further 503 runs at 27.94 including four half-centuries.

Gayler was Three Bridges’ star batsman last season scoring 722 league runs at an average of 60.17.

Josh Hayward will again be our 1st team captain and Chris Waller will continue working with him as first team coach.

David Reid said: “Our priority for 2016 is to continue building our squad and to consolidate our position in the Premier League.

“We’re very pleased therefore that Brad Gayler will be joining us from Three Bridges.

“As well as strengthening the top of our order, he’s a talented wicket keeper, so a great addition to our first team squad.”

Other Cuckfield team captains for 2016 are James Robinson, Matt Slinger and Glenn Smith who continue in their roles with the second, third and fourth XIs respectively.
