Chris Jordan became England’s highest T20 International wicket-taker during England’s third T20 versus South Africa in Cape Town.

Jordan dismissed Quinton de Kock for the third time in three games to reach a total of 66 T20 International wickets, having the big-hitting South African wicketkeeper caught by Tom Curran for 17.

The Barbados-born star overtook Stuart Broad to reach the milestone to become the first BAME player ever to be top of a historical bowling ranking for England.

Despite the early wicket, he and teammate Jofra Archer were unable to stop the powerful ball-striking of Faf du Plessis and Rassie van der Dussen as Jordan returned figures of 1-42 from his allocation with Archer finishing on 0-44 from his spell.

Neither was needed with the bat as England cruised to a nine-wicket win thanks to a man-of-the-match innings from Dawid Malan with 99 not out along with a handy contribution of 67 not out from Jos Buttler to seal a 3-0 series whitewash.

England should have been in further action this week with the start of their ODI series against the Proteas, but positive coronavirus tests have put the series in doubt. Archer, otherwise, a regular in England’s white-ball set-up across both formats was rested from the squad after a busy period of months in the IPL and now in South Africa.
