This week saw the Big Bash heat up as two Sharks continued their push for finals and a change of fortunes for another’s international side as Australia took on India.

Phil Salt and Rashid Khan had another good week for Australian T20 outfit Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. In their only game of the week, they took on Brisbane Heat with Salt and Rashid both in action with the bat.

Salt made 25 off 28 balls on a two-paced pitch before Rashid made nine off five balls to finish not out as the Strikers made 150/6.

Rashid was once again instrumental with the ball, taking the wickets of Max Bryant and English overseas Daniel Lawrence to finish with figures of 2-30 from four as the Heat collapsed to 68 for eight.

Despite 80 runs being put on by the last two wickets, Adelaide were able to scrape a two-run win to move up to third in the table.

Travis Head was in action for Australia as they took on India in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the second Test of their four-match series.

Batting first, Head finished as second top scorer, making a gritty 38 off 92 balls as Australia were bowled out for 195. After India had made 326 in response, Australia needed to bounce back but were undone yet again as they were bowled out for 200, Head unable to contribute heavily, scoring 17 off 46 balls.

India were given a target of 70 to win which they reached with a loss of just two wickets, bouncing back from being bowled out for 36 in Adelaide.
