Two wins in a row boost Sidley survival hopes

SIDLEY boosted their hopes of escaping the drop by notching a second successive win in Division Two of the Sussex Cricket League.

A couple of weeks ago Sidley had looked doomed but after finally claiming their first victory of the campaign against Glynde & Beddingham, they followed it up by seeing off Goring in what was something of a grudge match.

Although they still prop up the table, Sidley are now only 19 points adrift of Pulborough in the final position of safety.

In reply, Sidley reached their target for the loss of three wickets with the bulk of the runs being scored by Paul Thompson (35) and John Haffenden (27 not out).
