Warden Park cricketers at the business end of a fantastic season

As the school cricket season draws to a close, Warden Park academy now find themselves at the business end of a fantastic season. The u12 team have won 8 of their 9 games, with their festival still to come. The u13 team are unbeaten and now face Bedes in the County cup quarter final.

The u14 and u15 teams are both fighting on two fronts with both teams in one Sussex final already. The u14 team have beaten Seaford College, Bedes and then a nail bitting game against Hurst to reach the Lords Taverners final. In the semi final Park bowled Hurst out for 100, however the early loss of Ben John put Park under pressure. The man of the season George Galbrath-Gibbons had another good innings to give Park a chance of winning, however the loss of 3 quick wickets put Hurst into a winning position. Nevertheless, Parks lower order boatmen Charlie Best and man of the match Robbie Deane batted beautifully to see Park win with 2 balls to Spare.

Not to be outdone the u15 team are into the 20-20 finals day after Vince Lawson scored an unbeaten 78 and Ben John 38 to beat Blatchington Mill in the previous round, with Jordan Cornfod getting a hatrick of wickets. The team are also into the County Cup semi final after beating Oathall by 9 wickets. Matthew Denyer, Jake Donovan, tashaffi Shams and Adam Cooper have all performed well with both bat and ball. All three Park teams now need to remain focused to ensure the season ends in style.
