CYCLIST CRACKS TWO HOUR MARK

On Sunday, June 18, the East Sussex CA (ESCA) 50-mile time trial incorporated the LWCC 50 mile Championship. Nine Wanderers rode the event, along with 50 riders from other clubs.

Mark Winton won the club championship with a 1 hour 56 minute 22 second ride, he finished 4th overall in the ESCA event and also won the club 1st on handicap award.

Colin Harris (2-00-31) finished second to Mark in the championship and just missed cracking the magic two hour mark.

Peter Baker (2-03-22) was 3rd and 2nd on handicap. The Vets Standard award went to John Mankelow who completed the course in 2-09-48.

Other provisional Wanderers times: Mike Levett 2-05-53; Graham Jeffs 2-11-15; Jeremy Meades 2-11-20; Peter Barling 2-13-42; Alan Lloyd 2-25-09 & Debbie Evers 2-31-43. Fastest rider on the day was Steve Dennis with 1-51-25.

Monday, June 19, saw the 7th round of the Lewes Wanderers Evening Ten series.

After the super fast conditions of the previous week, the field of 25 riders had to face slightly tougher conditions. Top three on the night were: Mark Winton 21-32; Peter Baker 23-55 & Peter Barling 24-57.
